February Doki Doki Crate

For this month, I wanted to branch out and try another box subscription. The Doki Doki Crate is relatively new, and if it sounds familiar, then it should be since Japan Crate created it. Doki Doki Crate is a themed subscription box with kawaii items. The subscription is $30 dollars a month with free shipping. This is not a sponsored post, I paid for this box. The reason I got this box is because it was Kiki’s Delivery Service and Spirited Away themed.

I was beyond excited for this box and my expectations were high. I thought I was going to receive a couple of Studio Ghibli items as well. I filmed an unboxing video, but decided not to post it because I was disappointed with most of the box.

The only things related to the box’s theme was the Jiji coin purse and the mini No Face plushie, while everything was a bit random. The other items included in the box were ghost flags, a bookmark, a whistle, a mini pen, a Kero keychain, a Chi Chi cat figure, and a Card Captor Sakura mini figure.

Now, I am going to be a bit harsh, but the mini Card Captor Sakura figure is a fake. I didn’t realize it, until my sister who collects anime figures told me. Good Smile Company is one of her favorite companies when it comes to figures, and she showed me a Facebook post from Good Smile Company that stated the figures from the Doki Doki Crate are fake! I’ll post the link if you want to check it out: Fake Figure

I am a bit upset that most of the items were fake, even the coin purse was fake. I will not be getting another subscription. I heard that Japan Crate has addressed the issue over the fake items. Here’s the link: Japan Crate responds to bootleg items

If I had to rate the box, I would would rate it a C. It was very pricey, and it let me down. Now I am more aware of fake anime goods. There are other cheaper kawaii subscription boxes if you want to check them out. Q-Box  is one of the better ones that I have stumbled upon, though it may carry fake goods as well, but the boxes are better curated if you are looking for kawaii goods. I’d recommend checking out Dollastic on YouTube. Though most of my items were fake, they are still cute, and I am keeping them regardless.

  1. Sadly, most of the YouTube reviews I’ve seen for Doki Doki Crate have been negative. And it does seem that the biggest problem is the bootlegged items. I wonder, is Doki Doki crate advertising legitimate merchandise? If they are, that’s just horrible!

    1. I hope they aren’t. I’m glad that the company has addressed the problem. They stated that they didn’t know about the manufacturer and they are getting a new manufacturer for the March box. I’m glad that people are posting honestly reviews on YouTube for people considering getting this box 😊👌

      1. I wonder if the number of items per box is going to change since I imagine items from the real manufacturers are going to be more expensive. Hopefully, their March box is better!!

      2. I have a feeling that might be less items, but I’m not sure if the price will stay the same. I am hoping that the box gets better, but I wouldn’t get it until I see progress with the company :/
