T5W: Intimidating Books

Top 5 Wednesday was created by GingerReadsLainey and has passed down the torch to Sam from Thought On Tomes, our current host for T5W.  Go join the group on Goodreads. °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°intimidating.gif

This week’s topic is Intimidating Books. I actually have a list of books that intimidate me. Most of them are classics, and it was hard to pick the top 5 that intimidate me. Here is my list:

  1. Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin – I was really overwhelmed when I first tried reading the first book. I couldn’t do it. I might try to read the book, possibly several years later, but as for now, I am intimidated by the length of the books…
  2. Les Misérables by Victor Hugo – This is a classic book that I want to read. About five years ago, I checked it out from the library with other books…well, I never got to it and returned it.

  3. Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell – I’ve seen the movie, but I’ve always wanted to read the book.
  4. War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy – I’ve only watched the movie, but I always wanted to read the book. It’s always recommended to me.
  5. Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand – The length of this book intimidates me. I want to read it, but at this moment, no thank you.

  1. I read Les Misérables for school when I was 10 or so, we had it in a format that was chopped up, so it was more like a series and less like one book, it was way more intimidating that way ! Since then, Victor Hugo has become one of my favorite authors.
