WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. So for this week, I haven’t had that much time reading. Well, I’ve mostly been reading my required chapters for school, but that’s it. Midterms are coming up soon and I’ve started my study guides for class. Once midterms are over, then I’ll try to get back on track with my reading.

Falling Kingdoms: I have not advanced whatsoever. I’m not dropping the book. It would be too soon for that.

Crooked Kingdom: I’ve read five chapters and loving it!!! I’ve stayed away from spoilers. Thank the Lord. Ahaha.

Possibly the cheesiest book that I’ve ever read, and it became such a guilty pleasure besides how stereotypical it was.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. I’m out of my book slump and I’m back. Ha ha. Summer makes me lazy and it’s when I read the least amount of books. Now that I’m taking a couple classes, I’m feeling more productive. I’m taking my sweet time when it comes to reading. I’m doing good with my Goodreads book challenge.

The Three Ws are:

I’m Not Your Manic Pixie Dream Girl: I already know how it will end. Haven’t read any spoilers for it and I’m halfway done with the book. It’s so stereotypical!! It’s so cheesy, but it’s a guilty pleasure. Aha. Review will be posted either Friday or Saturday if I finish my research paper. Ha.

Falling Kingdoms: It takes me a while to read Fantasy. I really like Magnus, but not sure how I feel about it yet.

What did you recently finish reading?

Maybe Someday: Started off great…and I didn’t love it. Problematic characters, but interesting story. Hopefully the next CoHo book I pick up is better than this one.

Labyrinth Lost: Overall fun and loved the diverse cast of characters!! Loved it, and looking forward to the other books in the series.

Yasssssssssss!! I have my copy of Crooked Kingdom on my shelf and it’s begging me to read it!!! I got the target edition of the book and it comes with a poster! Avoid tumblr like the plague.

WWW Wednesday August 3, 2016

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. For the month of July, I completely went M.I.A. and stopped updating my reading progress. August is a brand new month and I feel much more confident when it comes to reading and doing book memes. This week was terrific! I’ve caught up with Steven Universe and I’ve been mostly reading Bleach by Tite Kubo since it is ending!!!

Withering Rose.jpg

Goodreads synopsis: **A USA Today Recommended Series!**

What if Beauty was cursed, and the Beast was the only one who could save her? Don’t miss WITHERING ROSE, a dystopian romance from bestselling author Kaitlyn Davis that reimagines the classic fairy tale of Beauty & The Beast.

“As the heat finally disappeared, I felt the bloom blossom in the very core of my soul, a rose just like my name–a ticking clock hidden behind a façade of beauty. From that moment on, my life would become a countdown, and all I could do was wait and watch as the petals of time slowly started to fall.”

Omorose Bouchene has a secret–magic. There’s only one problem. At the age of seven, an earthquake struck, catapulting her into a new world. A land made of skyscrapers and cell phones. Fast cars and fluorescent lights. A land where magic isn’t supposed to exist and anyone who wields it is the enemy.

But after ten years of hiding, she’s desperate to find a place where she can be free. Because all magic comes with a curse, and her curse is time–every ounce of power she uses strips days off of her life. The clock is winding down, and the only option left is to escape to the realm of the Beast. But the king of monsters isn’t what he seems. And the more Omorose opens her heart, the more she comes to realize that the only person she may need to fear is herself.

*This is the second book in Once Upon A Curse, a series of interconnected stand-alone novels all set in the same fantasy universe.

I just finished Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, and let’s just say that I liked it, but I’m not in love with it. It’s not a magical adventure like the other books, but overall it was a fun book.

Labyrinth Lost

Goodreads Synopsis: Nothing says Happy Birthday like summoning the spirits of your dead relatives.

I fall to my knees. Shattered glass, melted candles and the outline of scorched feathers are all that surround me. Every single person who was in my house – my entire family — is gone.

Alex is a bruja, the most powerful witch in a generation…and she hates magic. At her Deathday celebration, Alex performs a spell to rid herself of her power. But it backfires. Her whole family vanishes into thin air, leaving her alone with Nova, a brujo boy she can’t trust. A boy whose intentions are as dark as the strange markings on his skin.

The only way to get her family back is to travel with Nova to Los Lagos, a land in-between, as dark as Limbo and as strange as Wonderland…

Beautiful Creatures meets Daughter of Smoke and Bone with an infusion of Latin American tradition in this highly original fantasy adventure.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words A lot has been happening in my life, so I couldn’t read much for this week. I’m not giving up, and hope that I can crunch in some reading time. I finished The Star-Touched Queen last weekend, and that’s better than nothing.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. Hey world, just want to let you know that this week has been great. I’m trying to learn how to manage my free time more. I find it nearly impossible because of work. Ha ha.

As you guys are seeing, I’m reading three books at the moment. What am I doing with my life? Ha ha ha.

I’m nearly 60% with Star-Touched Queen, it’s the beautiful writing that drew me in. I’m also happy that my younger sister (who normally doesn’t read books by the way, has an interest in reading it). Very insta-love.

The Rose & The Dagger, I will try to get to the halfway point by Sunday. I have my family over from Mexico, so I had to put this book down for a bit. I’m going to try to read during my lunch break instead of watching anime on cruncyroll.

Lastly, I haven’t passed chapter five for ACOMAF. I haven’t gone to the gym in a week and this is suppose to be my book while I work out. Tomorrow I’ll go to the gym.

This book reminds me a bit of Anna and The French Kiss! I hope it’s just as good!

Goodreads Synopsis: Most teens dream of visiting the City of Lights, but it feels more like a nightmare for Sophie Brooks. She and her brother are sent to Paris to spend the summer with their father, who left home a year ago without any explanation. As if his sudden abandonment weren’t betrayal enough, he’s about to remarry, and they’re expected to play nice with his soon-to-be wife and stepdaughter. The stepdaughter, Camille, agrees to show them around the city, but she makes it clear that she will do everything in her power to make Sophie miserable.

Sophie could deal with all the pain and humiliation if only she could practice piano. Her dream is to become a pianist, and she was supposed to spend the summer preparing for a scholarship competition. Even though her father moved to Paris to pursue his own dream, he clearly doesn’t support hers. His promise to provide her with a piano goes unfulfilled.

Still, no one is immune to Paris’s charm. After a few encounters with a gorgeous French boy, Sophie finds herself warming to the city, particularly when she discovers that he can help her practice piano. There’s just one hitch—he’s a friend of Camille’s, and Camille hates Sophie. While the summer Sophie dreaded promises to become best summer of her life, one person could ruin it all.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of WordsHey, and good evening! This week has been extremely busy for me due to personal reasons, but I’ve been reading a bit more than last week. I should update my Goodreads account since I haven’t been posting which books I’ve finished and which ones I’m currently reading. Ha ha.

I’m a couple in The Rose & The Dagger, and I’m so happy to be transported into this world. I’ve seen nothing but wonderful ratings for this book.

As for A Court Of Mist And Fury, I’m in no rush to finish it any time soon. It’s the book that I’ve been taking to the gym and trying to read. Ha ha. Team Rhysand all the way.

Unfortunately, A Quarrel Called is not available to read on NetGalley, I missed my chance to send it to my kindle and it’s archived. I’ll get to reading it when it gets published. As for now, I’ll read The Star-Touched Queen instead! I haven’t seen much reviews for this one, but I’m hoping it’s good!!

This week is definitely exciting!!! I am going to Yallwest this Saturday with the fiancé, and I can’t wait to get my books signed! I attended last year, but it was my fault for not bringing a cart for my books. This year, I feel much more prepared!! #YALLWEST2016

No Longer Human is dark, I’m not going to lie. It’s interesting, but a bit depressing. It’s my first Japanese Literature book for this year.

What did you recently finish reading?

My favorite book for this month has to be Adulthood is a Myth! It was hilarious! I suggest you check that book out since it’s relatable and who doesn’t love comics.

I also finished A Stolen Kiss, and let’s just say that I found to be extremely cheesy. It seem more as a middle grade book than young adult. In addition, it’s the first book in a series. I don’t see how much more the author can expand on the story…

And the last book that I read was The Mirror & The Maze which is available on Amazon for free! It’s a short story that takes place just before the second book. It made me excited for The Rose & The Dagger. Can’t wait to buy my physical copy.

I’ve avoided spoilers for the last book in The Winner’s Trilogy. I hope that the ending is as epic as everyone is saying. My heart.
