The Book Sacrifice Tag

I was tagged by Jesalin a long time ago! I decided to finally do this book tag! Long overdue! I had so much fun doing this book tag!!

1.) An Over-Hyped book: Let’s start this off with a Zombie Apocalypse! Let’s say you’re in a book store, just browsing, when BAM! ZOMBIE ATTACK. An announcement comes over the PA System saying that the military has discovered that the zombies’ only weakness is over-hyped books. What book that everyone else says is amazing but you really hated do you start chucking at the zombies knowing that it will count as an over-hyped book and successfully wipe them out?!

  • Well, this one is a hard choice, I couldn’t pick between Divergent or Twilight. But, there is one book that was overhyped when it got its movie adaptation and that is Beautiful Creatures. How I loathe that series, I couldn’t read the sequel and had to drop it all together.

2) A Sequel: Let’s say you’ve just left the salon with a SMASHING new haircut and BOOM: Torrential downpour. What sequel are you willing to use as an umbrella to protect yourself?

  • When I was younger, I loved Delirium by Lauren Oliver. I loved the first book and I immediately picked up the sequel. I hated it. It was terrible and not what I expected. After reading the sequel, I couldn’t complete the trilogy.

3.) A Classic: Let’s say you’re in a lecture and your English teacher is going on and on about how this classic changed the world, how it revolutionized literature and you get so sick of it that you chuck the classic right at his face because you know what? This classic is stupid and it’s worth detention just to show everyone how you feel! What classic did you chuck?

  • Brave New World. I’ve said it. When I first read this book for high school, I had a massive headache. The terminology was too much for me. When I had to read the book again for my college literature class, I lost it. Though the second time was a better experience, I still dislike this book with a burning passion.

4.) Your least favourite book of life!: Let’s say that you’re hanging out at the library when BAM global warming explodes and the world outside becomes a frozen wasteland. You’re trapped and your only chance for survival is to burn a book. What is the book you first run to, your least favourite book of all life, what book do you not fully regret lighting?

  • Love and Misadventure by Leav Lang is probably one of the worst books that I have read. Don’t recommend reading it at all. A huge waste of time.

The Book:

the serpent kingGoodreads Synopsis: Dill has had to wrestle with vipers his whole life—at home, as the only son of a Pentecostal minister who urges him to handle poisonous rattlesnakes, and at school, where he faces down bullies who target him for his father’s extreme faith and very public fall from grace.

He and his fellow outcast friends must try to make it through their senior year of high school without letting the small-town culture destroy their creative spirits and sense of self. Graduation will lead to new beginnings for Lydia, whose edgy fashion blog is her ticket out of their rural Tennessee town. And Travis is content where he is thanks to his obsession with an epic book series and the fangirl turning his reality into real-life fantasy.

Their diverging paths could mean the end of their friendship. But not before Dill confronts his dark legacy to attempt to find a way into the light of a future worth living.

WWW Wednesday March 02, 2016

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. The month has just started and I am motivated to read a bit more! Especially when I see how much Rory from Gilmore Girl reads, makes me want to start reading even more. Anyways, my week has been good so far. I am excited to finally sign up for the gym again.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I really feel sorry for the protagonist in Wild Swans. So far, all I know is that her mother left her as a baby and the women of her family are extremely talented, but die at a young age. Anyways, I really dislike the protagonist’s mother a lot. I am not liking the love interests. For example, the protagonist made out with a guy she thinks is hot, but doesn’t know his personality at all. I already have a feeling hot guy will end up with the protagonist, and the girl’s best friend will be the second guy who won’t get the girl in the end.

I am in no rush to finish Stars Above. I am taking my sweet time to enjoy it! Since it is a collection of short stories, I am trying to read one a day!

What did you recently finish reading?

truthwitch

I had a lot of fun reading Truthwitch! I’ll post my review tomorrow!

What do you think you’ll read next?
